Announcing the Launch of the Book that helped inspire, “CreaTeen For Life.”
In Substance Abuse: The Ultimate Teen Guide, NSAA Founder/President Sheri Mabry Bestor looks at the various reasons why young people experiment with drugs and alcohol—and the consequences of doing so. Written to help young adults and those close to them understand substance abuse disorder, this book is full of important and practical information from various experts. In addition to facts, statistics, and advice, this book also provides insights from real people—teen addicts and others—who have been affected by substance abuse.
“Working on this book project for the past year was an amazing learning experience for me, not only learning more about the topic, but about teens themselves, how their brains develop and about the pressures they face. Also about the human spirit. I began to realize the value of certain processes and experiences that could equip teens with tools to navigate through these years of transition. It’s part of what CreaTeen for Life is all about,” says Sheri.
We hope you have a chance to read through it–you’ll see contributions from spiritual leaders, law enforcement, parents, artists, holistic practitioners, a renowned author, someone from Broadway, and teens themselves- a few who wrote from jail or prison. (etc. etc.) The publishing co. has it for sale online at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It will also be in libraries and schools throughout the nation. Or if you live nearby, you can find it at the Arts Mill.
